- Final cut of your video is due for delivery on Friday 18th December. If for any reason you think you might miss that deadline, you should let me know as soon as possible.
- It would be sensible of you to try and get a complete rough cut on your blog by the beginning of next week so I can offer you some advice on editing
- Research and planning for your print products (advert/ digipak) need to go on your blog by the beginning of next term (4th January). You should spend at least an hour a day every day on this during the Christmas break
- Your print products are due for delivery at the end of next half term (12th February). If you are not certain your final video will be complete by the end of the term, you need to factor this in
- You should also make sure that you are producing evidence which will link to your exam and your evaluation - elements you should be thinking about are, for example:
- Audience (primary feedback and evaluation of this/ evidence from secondary sources)
- Comparison with real media texts - how does your work stand up to the research you have done
- Combination of products - how do your three pieces connect? You need to make sure there is a clear sense of campaign between your products
- Use of technology - how is this helping you develop your work
- Genre - how are you meeting expectations based on your research?
- Narrative - how does your work conform to narrative theories?
- Media language - linked to genre and narrative, what choices are you making in terms of shots, edits etc. (micro features)
- Representation - what positive/ negative elements are you exploring? How and why?
- Development of skills - how are your research, planning and production skills improving?
As I have mentioned on several occasions, it is not just enough to describe what you are doing - you need to regularly analyse and reflect using a range of presentational methods. You should be blogging now around every other day minimum, with one blog post every day during the Christmas break - from now to the end of the year, I would expect to see at least 20 detailed posts if you are going to meet your target. Please let me know if there is any aspect of this you don't understand or need advice on.
