Music video task

Over the summer, you should plan, shoot and edit a rough music video from the genre you have been studying. You could choose any song, including the one you are intending to use for your final video. You should undertake the following tasks:
    • Choose an appropriate song and decide on a concept for your video
    • Note down your concept/ scenario and the rough outline for what you intend to achieve (including which section of the song you are going to use - you only need to cover 60-90s)
    • Present a short breakdown of the action you intend to shoot, including simply storyboarding and any other information you think will help you
    • You can go into as much detail as you want, but do make sure you consider
      • How you are meeting generic conventions (link to your research into existing videos)
      • How you are meeting theoretical conventions (link to your research into music video theory)
    • When shooting your video
      • Make sure you book the cameras
      • Make sure you collect the cameras and that they are charged
      • Make sure you organize any other cast/ crew you need
      • Make sure you maintain a production log covering your experience shooting
    • During lessons, you could always begin editing any footage you have generated
    • You could also do additional research, if appropriate
    • Make sure your finished video is on your blog before the beginning of next term
